ELLA VERBERNE

Saturday, September 24, 2011

I couldn't help but notice that this model showed up in practically EVERY NZ Fashion Week show... I had recognised her from somewhere and finally realised that she was the face for Twentysevennames back in the  spring/summer 2010/2011 collection... Ella Verberne has already made a name for herself and I'm sure I'm going to see her in a lot more things...

RUBY | SPRING '11

Friday, September 2, 2011

Currently NZ Fashion Week is happening and yet again I haven't made it to Auckland to join in the fun... So I've had to console myself by scouring the internet for the latest news and by following NZ fashion bloggers who have been lucky enough to be a part of the festivities. The much anticipated Ruby collection named "The Captial City" was showcased the other day and I'll be waiting for the official photos to be coming out later on. In the meantime, here is the Spring '11 collection... I love how Ruby always stays true to the brand's aesthetics, soft feminine and modern. And also how it's all so wearable!

P.s. Sorry I've been so distant lately... School mock exams are next week so I will be extremely busy until after then...

OH SO DEMURE

Juliette Hogan’s “The Morning After The Night Before . . .,” Winter 2011. Photos by Guy Coombes.
I was looking at the blog Liebemarlene Vintage the other day and came across these photos of photos of Juliette Hogan's new lookbook. I've been waiting to see this lookbook ever since NZFW and these are the only sneak peaks I've seen on the internet yet. I love this collection and can't wait to see the whole lookbook! I like how everything is so wearable and minimalistic, yet not boring at the same time. Exactly what I like! Plus I think pleats might be the new thing on my to buy list...

NZ FASHION WEEK- DAY 2 & 3

Thursday, September 23, 2010

These are some of my favourites from days 2 and 3 of NZFW:

Of course, the much anticipated Twenty Seven Names. The collection was inspired by the 90's high school fashion. Simple lines and feminine designs were typical of their previous collections. P.s. I love the socks with the boots...

Nicole Miller's collection was mainly black with some exceptions of white. Amazing backs to some of her dresses!

And of course the iconic New Zealand designer Trelise Cooper. My favourite part of her collection was the military jackets (especially the khaki one in the second photo):

NZ FASHION WEEK- DAY ONE

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Unfortunately I can't be in Auckland right now enjoying New Zealand Fashion Week... Luckily, there is a little thing called "technology" and I have been watching the shows via the internet. Thank god for that! From Day One, my favourite designer had to be Juliette Hogan. Her collection was feminine and minimalist with great tailoring. What I love about her clothes is that they are classic and you would easily be able to wear  them without getting weird looks from the road workers across the street... One of my favourites of hers is the cream dress. Simple but timeless:

I also really like her Spring/Summer '10 collection, Textbook Beautiful:

Other designers I'm looking forward to seeing are Twenty Seven Names:

And Celine Rita:
